The Most Important Book on Ministry I’ve Read

I just finished listening to the audiobook recording of Diane Langberg‘s Suffering and the Heart of God.

Besides the Bible, it may be the best and most important book on ministry that I have read. Gospel-centered and trauma-informed, written by someone whose wisdom comes from decades of experience in the trenches of suffering, relationship with Christ, professional psychological care, and rich study of the Scriptures.

I wish I had this book in seminary. I wish I had this book before I entered the pastoral ministry.

If I could, I would assign it as required reading for every church member. It will expand and fuel your love for Christ and neighbor.
